Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland
Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland (JMD) has been established in 1951 as a national section of JM International, the world’s largest youth and music network today. JMD has developed to Germany’s national association of youth orchestras, from the top selection ensembles like the Young Germany Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra or the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie to school and music school orchestras, JMD is counting 250 corporate members with ca 15.000 young musicians and still growing in number and activities.

mu:v – Musik verbindet! – Connected by music!
JMD has started a youth initiative heading at the vision of developping into an organisation that provides a platform, training and support for young musicians to realise their own ideas and projects in the field of music, spreading the ideals of Jeunesses Musicales in ever rejuvenating energy – to develop through music across all boundaries.
World Meeting Center of Jeunesses Musicales International
As another branch of activities JMD invites young musicians to ca. 70 music camps, courses and master classes throughout the year. The range is from Children’s Cello Camp, camps and classes for different instruments, training courses for young music organisers, youth composers workshops and competition up to the big international summer classes like the JM International Chamber Music Campus or the International Opera Academy, which are both part of the program of the JM world-wide network.
JMD happens to run Germany’s largest music rehearsal venue in the little pictoresque town of Weikersheim, using buildings of Weikersheim Palace and offering a modern lodging house for up to 220 persons. Youth orchestras, choirs, ensembles and groups from Germany and abroad are many to work in the inspiring surroundings with all necessary devices and support.
The number of overnight stays is nearly 30.000 a year, counting 9.000 people on the whole. The place has been appointed “World Meeting Center of JM International”.
