A place that seems to all the time develop further, in harmony with the demands and visions of today. Dear Colleagues and Friends in the JM Network,
On behalf of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, we have the pleasure of receiving your delegation to join the 67th Annual General Assembly of JMI, taking place from 24 to 29 July 2012 in Weikersheim, the seat of JMD and our main platform of activities since 1956.
We invite you to find out when attending the 67th AGA. Our motto “Magic Places for Music”, is giving you a clue. To many of you our place is known already, and they will return to welcoming and familiar spirits. In the scenery of a charming renaissance castle in the picturesque town of Weikersheim new and known guests will experience JMD’s location of a most inspiring music rehearsal venue for young musicians.
You will find that searching for our little town will require a “deep zoom” on your computer. Yet thousands of young musicians find their way to this tiny rural place in the heart of Germany every year from all over the country and the world. Among German musicians the name of Weikersheim is synonymous with Jeunesses Musicales, and in 2005 our town has been named „World Meeting Center of JMI“. Why so?
Young musicians are the very soul of „Jeunesses Musicales“. This is why JMD has launched “mu:v“ – a dynamic and growing youth initiative which makes our place overflow every other year with a huge youth music camp. This year, young delegates of your JM section are invited to participate at no cost, taking them to connect, make music and exchange ideas. So, please fill the ranks of your delegation with young people whom you entrust with carrying forth a piece of JM’s future in your country.
Join the Assembly and feel at home in „JMI World Meeting Center Weikersheim“. Breathe the enchanting air of our magic place, get [mu:v’d] in the flow of young ideas and take in a sample of our culture, history and countryside.
