What inspired you to be a part of ETHNO Germany?
I had no idea what ETHNO was. Until one day, Philipp Vandré from Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland called me and asked me, if I wanted to help creating such a project with the newly established Landesverband Rheinland-Pfalz. And then it was there and thrived: the most beautiful music project I ever experienced.
I strongly believe that music is deeeply connected with a higher level of human coexistence. That’s the reason why I feel so honoured and happy to be a part of ETHNO Germany.
ETHNO is celebration of the uniting power of music. I feel bliss, when I witness how people from all over the world play, dance and laugh together – and become friends eventually. In times like these, in which marginalisation and xenophobia sadly play a prominent role, I think of ETHNO as an extremely important contribution to international understanding. In addition to this, it’s the sensational musical quality, which motivates me to contribute to ETHNO Germany. My musician’s heart beats faster, when I get the chance to explore the musical diversity of this planet with superb musicians.
Living together can be so easy and beautiful, that's what ETHNO is about for me. I learned so much about myself and others, learned so much new in general, so many new tunes, all thanks to Ethno. You play music to make contact with people, you start to get them to know better within and outside the music, and maybe one day you will meet them again! ETHNO is a global village. Wherever I travel now I have so many places to go to thanks to ETHNO. This is what brings us together in this world, this is the kind of communication that we need!
ETHNO opens up a space, in which I am in touch with incredibly good music, in which friendships grow and overcome boundaries and in which the cultural diversity of our world is celebrated with everyone. I didn't want to miss the chance to be a part of it.
It's the music at ETHNO that makes it possible to connect with so many wonderful people from all over the world, that otherwise you would never have met. It's amazing to see friendships happen and to be able to grow so much from this event - musically, but personally too. To me ETHNO feels like home, where everyone can be who they are and I'm looking forward to being part of the team that makes it happen in Germany!
