German Youth Orchestra Award
Youth orchestras can participate in this competition organised by JM Germany every two years. Young ensembles repeatedly impress the jury and audiences with programmes full of humour and brilliant ideas. A motto, chosen for the concert by the orchestras themselves, inspires the imagination of the young musicians and provokes unique approaches to music.
mu:v – Musik verbindet (“music connects”)! The young initiative of JM Germany
JM Germany is a community in which young people participate and actively realise their own ideas. Their young initiative “mu:v” represents movement, excitement, intensity and respect for musicians of all styles and genres. The highlight of the initiative’s activities is the biannual mu:v-Camp, organised by the youngsters themselves. With “mu:v”, JM Germany paves the way for a future of a strong musical youth in Germany.
International Opera Academy
The study of roles, performance capacity, movement training – The International Opera Academy of JM Germany with participants from more than 20 countries constitutes „one of the most renowned projects to support young opera singers on the European level” (magazine “Oper & Tanz“). The International Chamber Music Campus of JM Germany is one of the most renowned masterclasses of its kind worldwide. Each year, young ensembles work with international artists, including one of the leading string quartets of the younger generation, such as the Artemis Quartett, the Vogler Quartett or the Miró Quartett. Chamber Music Camp for Young Instrumentalists
During 12 summer days filled with music at Castle Weikersheim, young musicians ages 14 and up explore the world of chamber music under the guidance of dedicated teachers. Be it in the unusual formation of a bassoon quartet, as a string trio or with piano accompaniment – for the participants, the music-making is an intense musical and personal experience, and the environment allows for sometimes lifelong friendships to grow.
Lab for Excellence in Singing
This programme for young outstanding singers has since 2014 successfully been offering a unique combination of training elements.
